We understand that starting counselling or finding the right support can raise a lot of questions. To help make things a little clearer, we’ve answered some of the most common questions about our services, sessions, and what to expect when working with Inner West Counselling.
Sessions are 55 minutes long.
You don’t require a referral to make an appointment, but a Mental Health Treatment Plan from a GP will allow access to Medicare Rebates for sessions.
All fees are discussed once you make an appointment. Medicare rebates are available for those with a Mental Health Treatment Plan from their GP.

As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, services are recognised by several private health funds. This means that if you have “Extras” cover that includes counselling or mental health support, you may be able to claim a rebate for your sessions.

Inner West Counselling works with both self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants, as long as your individual plan allows for therapeutic supports
Inner West Counselling provides counselling and therapy to anyone aged 10+
24 hours notice is required for all cancellations. If a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours notice, the full session fee will be charged.
Yes! Video and/or phone counselling sessions are available as an option.
